I have been drawing since I was six. I actually drew a horse jumping over a brook and my mother didn’t believe that I drew it so she made me draw it again while she watched. I’ve had two years majoring in fine arts but actually went back to school and became an RN.
Painting and sketching is a much needed stress relief. I do a lot of commissioned artwork, anything from formal portraits, landscapes to quirky, comical pieces. I love to work in a variety of mediums from graphite, conte, charcoal to watercolor pencils, acrylic and oils. I try to capture those sweet fleeting moments of honest life hence you will see several portraits from the back.
My husband and I live in rural, north Mississippi with two dogs, two cats, horses, cows and goats so I have a variety of subjects from which to choose. We have one son, sweet daughter in law and two grand children. We lost our firstborn son to HLHS at 27 days old and he was one of the biggest reasons I became a cardiac cath lab nurse. This may explain my love of anatomical hearts. Enjoy!
